Remembering 9/11

Take time to pause today and remember where you were 17 years ago. What did you feel when you heard or saw what was happening in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. We also take time to honor those that are still defending our country today on both foreign and domestic soil.

  1. “Tony, you might want to come to your office!” A coworker called me to my office to tell me that a plane just hit the World Trade Center. “A small plane like a Cessna,” I asked before I could return to the office, “No, Tony, it sounds like an airliner,” I turned on a radio to a confusing barrage of news. I called home to a very scared wife who said, “Tony, (long pause) …all those people are dead!” I hung up the phone and went and stood with a handful of people in US Steel’s Minntac’s radio repair shop staring up at a small black & white TV on top of a locker watching the events of 9/11 unfold. Forever etched in my mind.
